Promoting your site is never an easy chore. You may find yourself on a daily basis writing articles, participating in forums, and submitting your site to web directories in an attempt to get some free traffic to your site. Today, we’ll look at some quality web directories that are both free and paid.
The Best Damn Links Page will be the first one of the bunch. This site is a free web directory that has page rank, so the value of your links here are more than a brand new web directory. Approval is quick for this site and you can also get a featured link (your link above everyone else’s in your category) for a measly five dollars.
4169 - Free Link Directory is an older free web directory that was started early 2007. This one here has taken a little longer to approve my websites, though talking to the owner, they now have an editor on staff, so the wait should be shorter. You can also get your site featured for under five dollars, should you choose to.
The third directory on the list is the Tower Promote Link Directory. This site is a lot older than the rest (more than five years old) meaning that the links from this site carry a little more weight than the rest that we have mentioned so far. Site approval here is the worst of the three as this one is a little more popular than the rest too.
Last but not least, I want to mention Mitefind - paid link directory. Now, this site is a paid directory (under $2 at the time of this writing) so you actually need some money to list your site here. The benefit of a paid directory is that links tend to be approved promptly, and usually, the site does have some sort of advertising budget, so a link on the site should be a little more valuable.
Just remember that you should follow the submission guidelines of each directory that you submit to so your link is easily approved. Also, especially on the free directories, they may not have a dedicated editor, so it helps the owner of the site get listings approved quickly.
