As we grow up, we are all faced with a multitude of choices that influence our lives. Whether you know it or not, by reading this post, you are influencing your future right now.
Some of the more notable choices we make involve choosing what kind of education that we choose to get (if any) and how we spend our free time.
For example, you could go to a free seminar which offers the opportunity to meet and grow rich by networking with other people that are on that path - or you could go to the bar. Now, there is a cost to each action, but depending on your choice, your future will be different.
If you are looking for a different experience in life than everyone else, you will have to think outside the box - if you don’t your life will be very much similar to everyone else. I mean that you will probably work till you are sixty five, only have three weeks of vacation each year, and save your whole life for retirement to live below your means.
Do you want a life like that?
I sure don’t. But it is my life. How about you - what is your next choice?
I don’t consider myself an expert when it comes to Internet marketing - in fact, I am a bit of a novice. Sure I have done some article marketing, but beyond that, I have done little. In an effort to change that, this week I decided it was time to learn how to market my websites.
You would be surprised how many products and websites deal with the topic of getting higher search engine rankings - there are a ton of them. Some of the sites I read where useful and some of them were junk.
But in my quest to learn, I decided to try out some other online media because I am more of a visual learner. I checked out a couple of video sharing sites to see if they had any videos on how to promote a website, and they sure did!
I have watched a couple now, and I have a better grip on the whole thing. But I think I will try to watch at least one video each day - by learning a bit each day, it will stay interesting and I will be less likely to get bored. At least I hope that is how it works out…
What can I say… it is break time at another day of my life at the office. I don’t want to sound thankless by any means, but sometimes you just get tired of it. Day in an day out, I find myself doing the same things over and over and it reminds me of my hamster running on the wheel at home - he just isn’t getting anywhere.
Take today for example. This morning, I spent the time writing insurance reviews for an upcoming magazine our company will be launching.
What am I doing this afternoon?
Well, writing store reviews. Basically, we are trying to position ourselves as the review magazine for services and the service industry. So, we are trying to get some material all setup for the first few months of magazine issues, so that we are ahead of the game.
What is the highlight of my day so far?
Well, besides writing here, there has only really been one interesting development today. We will be having a weekly online business academy class to attend now in an effort to develop our technical writing skills. That should be fun because it will be different and interesting.
Well, breaks over - have a good day.
It is always nice to see people take time away from their work and lives to help those in need. This past weekend we saw this happen in our community when some NYC traffic violation attorneys volunteered to serve breakfast at a homeless shelter.
Now, it is hard to believe that a Manhattan traffic violation attorney would be wearing an apron, but I saw them before my very eyes. The lawyers from Manhattan were cooking and serving the pancakes.
There was also one Bronx traffic violation lawyer present cooking the breakfast sausages. She was very friendly and kind to those she served.
They were able to raise nearly $10,000 for the homeless shelter for much needed upgrades. It was sure nice to see lawyers co-operating instead of dueling it out in the court room.
I know someone who has about ten different Rolex replicas. The crazy thing is that you would never be able to tell that they were replicas if he didn’t tell you. I know that telling kind of defeats the purpose, but I was interested in buying and he wanted to save me money.
He told me all about the place he buys all of his replica watches and offered to take me there to buy my own. When I heard what a phenomenal price they were, I considered it, but in the end, I would know that it wasn’t real and I was ready to invest in the real thing.
I did not know that there were so many different kinds of Rolex watches and it took me a long time to pick out the one that I wanted. It ended up costing me more than all of his replicas, but in the end, I am happy with my decision and can honestly say it is the real thing.
Have you ever run across a website that you can find a lot of Internet buzz circulating about it? I know I have. Sure, some of them live up to the hype, but the others just don’t quite make the cut. I mean what is good for one person might not meet the expectations of another.
If you are looking for the best of the sites online, you can take advantage of the many website ratings services online. On these sites, people make bookmarks of their favorite websites and rate them. If a site is genuinely good, it will be rated well, if it sucks, well…. it should be rated poorly.
In fact, using these rating sites is what I used to find some of the fun websites that I visit on a regular basis. I figure if most people think they have found a good website, it should be worth checking out.
I was just at a couple of stores today shopping for some new electronics. Specifically, I was looking for a new plasma television - I think it is time to get rid of my old tube TV.
Now, there were many different sales pitches from the salesmen and that was okay. But what really bothered me is that they gave different product reviews of the same make and model of television. This caused some warning flags to popup in my head, and I decided that I needed to check out who was telling the truth.
So, I went home to checkout the website reviews on many sites about this particular TV. Skipping over the news and opinions section, I went straight to the consumer reviews to see what people were saying about this model.
It was a mixed bag. About half the people said it was the best television that they had ever had, while the other half said it sucked. Strangely the sales clerks in the stores said it was one of the best televisions they had ever seen… do you think they were trying to sell one to me? You bet.
I am just happy that I checked it out. I think next time I will do my research before I go out shopping - then I will know what to expect.
Have you ever planted a garden and gone out everyday to watch what you have planted grow?
Well, you can think of your website as a garden. You plant it, feed it some links (through link building strategies) and watch it grow. The growth can be as simple as traffic, or as exciting as extra money in your pocket.
How do you go about your link building?
Let me give you some link building ideas. You can use some of the more conventional ways to market your site through directory submissions, signatures on forums that you participate in, or even write and submit articles to article directories.
There are also some other, newer methods to generate links to your sites as well. Think about contributing to blogs that are in the same niche as your site - you can create many high value links in this manner. You can also use some social media marketing or social networking sites to get the word out about your sites - but that will be material for another discussion.
I recently came into some inheritance money from my great aunt. We were pretty close and I will miss her terribly. The condition that I would get the inheritance money is that I would spend it on something for me - something that I wanted but didn’t need.
For a long time, I have wanted a birthstone ring. Since I was born in February, that would mean that I would need an Amethyst ring. I checked out some luxury jewelry stores online and found a couple of designs I liked. With that in mind, I went to look at some jewelry stores today.
I walked into a store that sold unique designer jewelry. I haven’t been in a jewelry store for years, let alone one that sold designer jewelry, so I had to look around. I explained to the sales clerk what I was looking for and they lead me to a case with Amethyst rings in it.
Wow! With so many choices, I felt a bit overwhelmed, but I managed to pick the perfect ring. It is sitting on my finger now, and is my new best friend. Each time I look at it, I am reminded of my great aunt and smile.
I had never seen a Rolex replica watch until recently. My cousin wore one to my parent’s anniversary party and when I commented on how nice it was, and that he must be doing really well for himself, he admitted to me that it was not a real one.
I have to admit that I was surprised at the detail in the watch, as I had always thought you could tell replica watches from the real ones. I never would have guessed and told him so. I also promised not to tell anyone about it, if he hooked me up with someone who could help me get one of my own.
I am now the proud owner of three very high end watch replicas and I am the one that people think is doing very well for myself. I am not technically lying, because I really am doing well for myself, but why waste all that money when you can get something just as good for a fraction of the cost.
