Today sure ended up being a busy day for me. Between getting up late to go to work, to having to stay late, it seems like today was nothing but a rush. But thankfully, I am home now, just waiting for the pizza to be delivered. I am sitting down with a pop and the newspaper for some peace and quiet.
There was the usual news, but nothing really exciting. I did get a kick out of the funnies though and I needed some time to compose myself before I could get back to reading.
I skimmed through the business section and moved on to the classifieds. There I found an ad for free dating services that I clipped for a good friend that has problems finding a date.
It took just a half hour for me to get through the paper - sometimes I wonder why I even bother with a subscription.
Alright, I am not trying to run away from the law, just from life. As I had mentioned before, I need to have a break, relax, and enjoy life. Working all the time is not healthy, and being on vacation is (at least in my books).
Even though I like to let loose on my vacations, I like to plan ahead. There is nothing worse than traveling somewhere and having no idea of what to do. So, I have been collecting some guides on worldwide trips and tours, so that I can make an “educated” choice of where to go and what to do.
So far, I have some interesting candidates, but I am afraid I can’t share them with you. When I go away, I only let one person know where I am, otherwise someone might be tempted to call me about work - and I wouldn’t like that at all.
It is getting to that time of year where I go away to relax. Yes, my vacation time is coming up, and it promises to be very exciting. Even though I have to work (yes, I am not wealthy yet), it is my vacation that keeps me sane.
Sure, going away means that I have to work some overtime each week to have enough money to go, but the end result is worth it. In fact, just seeing some of the Las Vegas attractions that I saw on my last trip was worth every minute of overtime.
I just hope that I can get similar deals to the Las Vegas hotel deals I was able to get last year as it made the trip a lot more affordable. I will have to talk to my travel agent to see what she can do for me. But whatever the price, I know that I will love my time off from work.
I think that everyone has been affected by drug addiction at some point in their life. I am not saying that everyone has been an addict, but I think that everyone has known someone who had a problem with substance abuse and it has affected them in some way.
For me, it was my friend Rob. We had been best friends since we were four years old and we were inseparable until high school. He started hanging out with a rough crowd and we drifted as his crowd scared me half to death. I felt lost and lonely and I did not know how to stand by and watch him destroy his life.
A few years later, when I found out that he was in drug rehab, I went to see him. He took one look at me and he started to cry. I didn’t say anything to him, but for the next two hours I just held him. When he was ready to talk, I was there to listen.
It has not been easy for him since then, but he says that seeing me there for him that day changed his life. He is still my best friend and he knows that I will never leave him again.
I used to be best friends with a guy named Scott and we did everything together. When I became a mom for the first time and felt completely alone, he was there for me like no one else and I am so thankful that I had him at such a tough time in my life. He was also really good to my little boy.
Around that time, he divulged the fact that he had very strong feelings for me and wanted to take our relationship up a notch. He had just moved to Winnipeg to work in translation service for Canada’s Foreign Affairs. I left my son with his dad overnight and flew to Winnipeg to see Scott and see what could develop.
Though I did care for him deeply, I came to the realization that he was going to be moving a lot, including overseas, and that I could not ever be anything more than a friend to him, as that would mean taking my son away from his dad, which was something I had promised myself I would never do. When I said goodbye to him at the airport, it was the last time I ever saw him, as he moved to Egypt shortly after. I still think about him all the time and miss him terribly.
I know that summer is a ways off, but I am getting very excited. Not only will I be able to spend days at the beach, but the best part will be to spend time on the water. In fact, I have gone down to the yacht storage units just to make sure my yacht made it through the winter in good condition.
You see, a couple of years back, I decided that using yacht storage would be a smarter idea than just parking my yacht on a trailer. Not only would it be safer for the boat, but the insurance for those months would be cheaper than just leaving it on a trailer.
After trying a yacht storage unit or two, I found the best company in our area for my yacht. They take very good care of it over the winter, and it is nice to see it in the summer. I just can’t wait until it is a little warmer, then I will have to take it out.
I am sure that every woman I know has been to one of those home based business parties that sells food storage units. I have been to several and in fact, my kitchen is completely stocked with different jars and bins. I don’t think that any of my groceries stays in the box it was purchased in.
Though much of this food storage paraphernalia can be quite costly, it does make a kitchen seem much more tidy and organized. In my kitchen, everything has a place and this makes it a lot easier for me when I need something for cooking and it makes my kitchen easy to clean.
My favorite food storage unit would have to be my lettuce crisper. Lettuce used to go bad in my refrigerator very quickly, but since buying this, it lasts about three times longer than it used to. It is also nice because I find my vegetables are not getting squished anymore and my fried even looks neat and tidy.
My husband has been working very long hours to make enough money for us to move into a bigger home. You see, our family is getting too big for the space that we are in right now, and we need to upgrade badly. The problem for us is that we make just enough money to cover all of our expenses and that is it - that is why he is working more hours.
But he doesn’t really get any rewards for his hard work - so I thought that I would surprise him tonight when he comes home from work. The kids are sleeping over at my parents house and I have a little treat for him.
Earlier today, I went out to buy some sexy lingerie and stockings to make tonight a little more special. I can’t wait to see his face when he walks into the house…
The last time I moved, I moved into a much smaller place. I knew that I was going to need to rent a storage space for my things, as well as an automobile storage place for my car. It was going to be fairly costly, but I knew that it was just a temporary situation and I would only need it for a few months.
The first thing I did was look into an automobile storage unit. There was absolutely nowhere for me to park my car for the few months I had to spend at the apartment until I took possession of my house, so I decided that I would store it and take the bus until I moved into my house.
I was happy to find a couple of automobile storage units that would also allow me to store my furniture and boxes in the unit beside the car. I thought that this would be much easier if I needed to get anything or if I had to use the car for some reason. I was very happy when I got to finally move and take my car and my things home.
Ever since I was a little child, I have always dreamed of a fairy tale wedding. For me, a wedding is one of the most important events in one’s life, and it needs to be treated that way. I made sure to let my future husband know early on what I was expecting and he was okay with my wishes.
To ensure that we did have the best wedding ever, we hired a wedding planner to ensure that we didn’t forget anything. She was very helpful in picking the perfect location, the perfect caterer, and the perfect decorations for the event.
Even though I was very nervous on the day of my wedding, our planner had things under control. She was there to make little tweaks to the people involved in the ceremony, to make sure we knew what to do and keep a tight reign on our show.
When the day was over, I knew that it had been perfect thanks to our planner - she made my dreams come true.
