We’ve been shopping for engagement rings the last month or two and I’ve found a style that I really like. Diamond Rings in Gold, Platinum and even other finishes are really pretty, but I’ve decided on white gold.

This one is a vintage styled ring with a large center emerald cut stone of a half carat and an outer ring of small diamonds around the large center stone. The smaller diamonds run down along both of sides of the band too.

I love the vintage look and always have so this ring just jumped out at me. I have to be careful about a ring being overwhelming on my hand though because I have small fingers and this one is just fine. Not too big, but big enough to be really impressive.

My grandmother happens to live in the same town as me, and I am the only family she has that lives there.  Sadly, the rest of the family moved out due to work reasons, so all that is left is me.  That being said, I feel like I need to make sure that her needs are taken care of, so I find myself over at her house helping out a lot.

For example, I was over there today helping her decide if she needed to get her carpets cleaned.  You see, the idea popped into her head when she received a coupon in the mail for a discount off of carpet cleaning.

Now, if you were to look at her apartment, you would notice that she has only a couple of rooms that do have carpet in them.  So, I called the carpet cleaning Devon company to make an appointment for them to come to her house.

I guess I will have to come back the day before they show up to help her move her furniture - I guess that is part of my responsibility of being her grandson.

I was invited to an in home spa and, though I am not usually a big fan of such things, I decided that I should go and show support to my friend that was hosting the event. I was not planning to enjoy the products at all, but I ended up being pleasantly surprised.

The products that had the most appeal to me were the aromatherapy products. The scents were amazing and I really did feel like I was relaxed. I knew that it was something that I could get used to after a long day at work.

I bought more at that spa party than I ever have at an at-home catalog event than I ever have before. I am enjoying my products immensely and I think that I will now be a customer for life. I am even considering hosting a spa in my own home and this is something that I never do.

My husband, who runs his own online business from home, and I sat down to have a business meeting last night. As we are now into this together and rely on it as our sole income right now, we think that it is important for us to be on the same page when it comes to the business.

One of the things we discussed was the possibility that we could buy expired domain names. We thought that we could build pages and promote them, giving us some passive income each month. He is very smart when it comes to this type of thing and I trust him to know what he is doing and what is best for the business and our family.

He is really interested in the expired domain names, as it is something that was probably up on the net at one point and it would probably be easier to promote.

Don’t laugh, but up until recently I had a really, really, old cell phone.  Sure, the phone was made back in 2001 (yes that is the right year), and it just wouldn’t die.  Being the type of person that doesn’t replace things until they are broken, I just couldn’t part with it.

But, the phone finally bit the dust and the battery no longer would hold a charge.  I went down to the local mobile phone store to see what it would cost to get a new one.

As it turned out, it just wouldn’t be worth buying a new battery, and I would be smarter to get a new phone.  I picked one out that the clerk recommended and took it home.

So, I am trying out the mobile file sharing feature on one of the mobile sites that was recommended to me.  Man, this phone is awesome!

I learned everything that I will ever know about gambling from my uncle. It is kind of funny because he used to take me out for the afternoon and we would go to the racetrack where he would teach me horse racing tips. My mom never found out and to this day I am sure she still thinks that Uncle Marty was taking me to the beach or out for lunch.

He always told me that it would be our little secret, and now as an adult, I understand why it had to be that way. I have given out my share of racing tips, but mine were always so logical, unlike his, which could seem like such a long shot, and yet he would win every time.

Uncle Marty passed away last year and I know that life will never be the same again. I miss him dearly, as he was the one person who always treated me like an adult and never seemed to let me down. Every time I place a bet now, I do it for Uncle Marty, the best horse racing tipster that I will ever know.

When I gave birth to my son, I also became a single mother. His father had not been ready for the responsibility of becoming a parent and I knew that it was going to be completely up to me to make sure that every need of my baby was met, both as an infant, and as he grew into an adult.

One of the first things I did was make a decision that I was going to put a little bit of money away for him each month, so that he would be able to go to college. I started to compare child trust funds and decide which would be the best for us.

Though funds were extremely tight those first few years, I made sure that I put a little bit away for him each month. It is really surprising how much that little bit of money grew into quite a substantial amount. When he graduated high school, I had put away more than what he would need and it made me feel good that I had made the right decision as a parent.

I remember the day just as clearly as it was yesterday.  I got a call well after midnight that my father had been a terrible car accident and they were not sure that he was going to make it through the night.  I caught the next flight out of there and they made it to the hospital before breakfast the next day.

I’ve always known that my dad was a fighter but I never really knew how much he had in him until I saw the drastic recovery he was making, that he was never expected to make.  I knew it was a long road ahead and I went home, but all of my stuff in self storage Philadelphia, rented out my apartment and made the trip back to dad knowing that I would be with him for as long as he needed me.

It was a really long year of doctors appointments and physiotherapy, but as I said before, his recovery was remarkable.  He made a full recovery and it was the day that I knew that my dad was much more than just a fighter; that he was invincible.

Here’s a tip for all you men out there anxious to meet and marry the girl of your dreams. Go to a wedding — better still, participate in one, either as a groom’s man, best man or usher. Now before you think of all the bride’s maids from Hell you’ve ever seen, realize that those will not be the only available women at the nuptials. Besides, the real opportunity for interaction is at the reception.

Now I probably shouldn’t be giving away gender secrets, but I’m having pity on you and letting you in on the whole scoop. Most women have been thinking and planning for their own wedding ceremony and reception since they were young girls. Even if they were previously married, believe me, they’ve been thinking about how they’d do it differently the next time, should the opportunity arise.

A wedding is the best environment to catch a glimpse of a woman’s romantic side. Don’t miss it.

A lot of our friends are starting to have kids and this is very exciting for me, as we had our first one five years ago and have been patiently waiting for him to have some other kids to play with.  Now he has quite a number of little playmates and we have new topics of discussion with all of our friends.

Over the past few years, I have come up with ideas for unique baby gifts.  One of the most popular is the diaper cake.  It looks I get three tiered cake made with diapers and garnished with baby things, such as soothers and rattles.

I think that it is appreciated by the parents when some thought and effort is put into creating something special for their perfect little baby and I also enjoy coming up with new ideas.  It seems to be the best of both worlds for both the parents and for me.
