Learning the Risks of LASIK

Posted By admin on July 12, 2008 @ 8:49 am

Though the thought of not having to wear glasses anymore gets me excited, it is also a scary thing.  I don’t quite like the idea of a laser shining into my eye which is what happens when you get LASIK eye surgery.

I guess for myself, I needed to find out whether or not the LASIK risks were worth the benefits.  Sure, I would like to get rid of my glasses just like everyone else, but what if something were to go wrong, I would hope that the problem wouldn’t be catastrophic.

One of my main concerns about the whole procedure is that it doesn’t fully correct my vision and that I would still have to wear corrective lenses or glasses.  According to some of the LASIK side effects I have read about, that is a distinct possibility.

It doesn’t help that I am really picky about my vision, and if it even changes a little, I need to change my prescription lenses.  I think that I might go in to talk to a specialist before I get the surgery done – I need all the answers before I go through with it.

Competing for the Busby SEO Challenge Grand Prize

Posted By admin on July 11, 2008 @ 10:43 pm

For as long as I can remember, I have always been very competitive.  Whether it was for sports or academics, I always strived to be number one.

Now that I am grown up, that goal of being number one has not stopped.  I am now a professional website marketer, and whenever I have the chance to prove that I am number one, I do it.

I just recently discovered the Bubsy SEO Challenge and I know that I will have a great time participating in it.  You see, it is an SEO competition where the top three people to rank for "Busby SEO Challenge" on Google stand to collect a hefty sum of money.

I like the fact that we are only allowed to use ethical SEO techniques – I suppose if you were to use black hat techniques, it really wouldn’t be that fair.  Though there are a couple of months left until the winner is declared, I know that I will be standing in the top ten – though I owe it to myself to rank number one.

Buying Investment Property Based on the Bathroom

I would have to say that I am not the most observant person when it comes to details.  Sure, I do notice things, but there are many things that I consider insignificant.

But today, I did notice something that I had not seen before – differences in showers in homes.  You see, I was out with a client looking at potential investment properties and for whatever reason, he was most concerned with the bathrooms.

Specifically, he was looking for homes with shower cubicles.  I asked him why that is what he was looking for, and he told me that he was buying properties that were going to be specifically rented to college students, and according to his experiences, they didn’t really use bathtubs enough to merit having them.

The last duplex of the day that I showed him, he fell in love with it immediately.  There were electric showers on both sides, and he knew that it would be a good selling point for students that like to have long, hot showers.  He placed an offer on it, and we’ll see if he gets it.

Who knew that one of the criteria for buying investment properties could be the bathroom?

Trying to Stay Young

Posted By admin on July 9, 2008 @ 1:25 pm

One of the biggest things that scares me as I get older is that eventually, I will get some gray hair and wrinkles.  So, I have been trying to make sure that I make healthy choices when it comes to eating.

In fact, I have been trying to make sure that my diet includes antioxidant foods such as those found in strawberries, blueberries, and beets.

Sure, this type of diet costs a bit more money, but my health and youthfulness is worth every penny!
