This a sampling of movie hits for 2008. These are some of the movies I found entertaining in this years crop. Hopefully you will see a couple of movies that you will enjoy.

JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH: Searching for his brother, professor Trevor Anderson explores caves in Iceland, and that leads him to the center of the earth. This a new version of the 1959 production, that was formed from the brilliant book by celebrated writer Jules Verne. Brendan Fraser, Josh Hutchinson, Anita Briem, and Seth Myers star in this adventure film.

STEP BROTHERS: Two forty year old child adults, who each live with their single parents, find themselves having to live in the same bedroom because their parents marry, we see that they are bound to have problems. Having the combination of Reilly and Ferrell as the key players, and you have the ingredients for lots of laughs. This seems like a best bet for a good laugh in 2008.

HAMLET 2: Dana Marshz, formerly a small time actor, has moved on to teaching the high school after classes to uninterested students. When the high school loses a major building, the school board figures the theatre program will have to go. Now fully motivated, he is on a mission to save the program by producing Hamlet 2, a sequel to the original work, which he writes himself.

TROPIC THUNDER: With a star studded cast the genre of the film is a spoof on many of the most popular war movies. To get better results from his crew to see the movie be a success, the desperate director into the middle of nowhere, and leaves them there by themselves. His theory is to scare them so they will produce a work of genius, that will be recorded on hidden cameras. Unbelievably, as the director steps on an old land mine and dies, the spoiled actors are on their own, and they start acting, thinking it’s a big set, but things are getting very, very real. Stars include Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., and Tom Cruise.

ZACK AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO: The bills are piling up and Zack and Miri, roomies who have been friends since grade school, need to make some money. The answer? Easy, start making pornos. Obviously this a perfect environment for lots of laughs.

Jumper: During a near death experience, David Rice (Hayden Christensen) learns an amazing thing. He has the ability to teleport himself to any place he wants to go, at any time. Eventually, he discovers that he is not the only one that has this capability. After he becomes used to jumping around the world, he is exposed to hunters that think jumpers are a threat, and need to be eliminated. Now he is in a fight for survival, as the hunters believe he should die.

THE INCREDIBLE HULK: This feature film tells a story about Dr. Bruce Banner, who, due to a military accident, has become the Incredible Hulk. This box office hit tells of the marvel universe comic super hero the green Hulk. Key actors include Edward Norton, Liz Tyler, Tim Roth. This film is directed by Louis Leterrier. The film style is sci-fi/action thriller.

PINEAPPLE EXPRESS: Heavy pot smoker Dale Denton, in a stroke of bad luck, has seen a bad cop, and the local drug king pin, murder someone. The killers know he has seen what’s gone down. Knowing they’ve seen him, he drops his joint of pineapple express, and takes off. This joint is such a unique type of weed, that it is possible to find out who has it. The “fun” is on, as Dale and his dealer Saul are desperately hiding from the bad guys.

ROLE MODELS: Danny and Wheeler, who sell energy drinks, might be seeing some hard jail time after trashing the company truck. The way they can avoid being locked up is by doing community service. Their task will be to become mentors in a community service program. Let the fun begin.
