Don’t believe everything that you hear, especially when it comes to auto insurance. Often people say things that they are not certain about when in fact it was never verified. Look for the facts, the truth, and find out for yourself if what you have heard is truth or fiction. A number of myths have to to be exposed for being simply that, myths!

Your new car is not automatically covered by any existing policies that you might have. Surely, your insurance company would like to insure your new vehicle but they must be informed about it.

Every state does not make drivers carry liability insurance. Look at that word, “every”, for the most part, states would like you to hold liability coverage however some do not. But it is an excellent suggestion to have it.

If somebody is utilizing your vehicle and is implicated in an accident, your insurance is who will offer protection. It will also be your rates that will be affected.

Many assume that their prices won’t go up if they are mixed up in an accident since they have No Fault insurance, this is a myth! No-fault provisions only mean that regardless of who is at fault, the insurance will pay for any damage. Young males less than 25 years of age are not charged the maximum insurance premiums. Because they have a higher accident ratio, seniors and teens are charged the most for insurance premiums.

If you use your car for business then you will need additional coverage. Part of how your premiums are determined does relate to your credit score.

Inform your insurance agent if you decide to give your business to another company. Any lapse in coverage can look bad on your credit report.

Your normal collision plan will not protect you from damages resulting from weather conditions, accidents that are caused from hitting something such as an animal, and theft. You must have full coverage if you would like to be covered for other types of damage since collision will only protect you in the event that you are involved in a car accident. Your collision will simply not cover any damage that arises from hitting an animal.

There is no specific colored vehicle that costs more to insure. The color is insignificant.
