Lately, a lot of people rent films regularly. Typically we all wait to rent the box office hits, as an alternative to watching films at the movie theaters. Here is a short list of some of most heavily rented DVD’s in Oct. 2008.

INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL: Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) returns to action, after a few years off. This is the most recent movie in the Indiana Jones series. In this movie Mr. Jones battles the Soviets. The Soviets are looking for some South American relics, and the powers they might possess.

THE LAZARUS PROJECT: Ex con Ben Garvey seems to have gotten his act together. With a stable home, and a job that pays the bills, things are pretty darn good. Then, he is let go from work, and he goes back to his old criminal type ways. People die during an attempted robbery, and he is convicted, and sentenced to die. He expects the lethal injection to kill him. To his surprise, he isn’t dead, but is in a psych ward. He now is in a battle for his sanity, and his soul.

LINEWATCH: Well likes Michael Dixon is a boarder man in New Mexico, and life seems to be good. Eventually, his past is going to threaten his future. He was part of a violent Los Angeles gang that he somehow got away from. When a bad twist of fate exposes his whereabouts to his old gang, he and his family are put in great danger. He is forced risk it all, and make sure that gang leader drake is able to safely get a large supply of drugs into the U.S.

THE INCREDIBLE HULK: This movie tells the tale of Scientist Dr. Bruce Banner, who has become the Incredible Hulk because of being hit by gamma rays. This film is a story about the marvel comic character the green Hulk. Actors Edward Norton, Tim Roth, William hurt, Liv Tyler play key roles in this film. The director is Louis Leterrier. This movie would be considered a thriller.

DECEPTION: Jonathan McQuarry, a bored and lonely corporate auditor, meets big time corporate lawyer Wyatt Bose. It is a meeting that changes his life forever. He is introduced to “The List”, where people find steamy sexual pleasures. But, he is also led into a scene full of deceit, underhandedness and death.

JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH: On a quest to find his missing brother, science professor Trevor Anderson sets out on a journey that sends him into the depths of our planet. This is a remake of the original 1959 movie, which was based on the classic novel by Jules Verne. This movie stars Brendan Fraser and Josh Hutchinson.

THE HAPPENING: Elliot Moore, with his wife, and Julian, with his daughter Jess are escaping Philadelphia by train. The northeastern U.S. has been thrown into chaos. People have been overwhelmed by some unknown malady, and are killing themselves. Can mankind find an answer, or is this the end of man?

IRON MAN: Playboy, engineer genius, Tony Stark is taken hostage by Afghan fighters. They try to force him to build missiles for the insurgent group. He suffered a bad injury when he was abducted, and has shrapnel stuck in his chest. To survive his injuries, and get away from the rebels, he designs a suit of armor that gives him incredible strength and defense. Iron Man is born.

SPEED RACER: A comic, turned TV anime, becomes a feature film. Much like the movie The Flinstones, Speed Racer is an animation changed into a movie with real actors. Speed Racer who loves racing. His goal is to win The Crucible, one of the biggest rally races that his older brother lost his live in. Against all odds, and the family business on the line, Speed Racer teams with his former adversary Racer X, in a last ditch effort to give himself a chance to win, and save the family business.
