Assuming that you have done Pilates before, I imagine that you’ve used a Pilates machine or other such Pilates equipment. There are quite a few of these machines available for the home market. Every Pilaters machine I’ve seen, like the Pilates Reformer, is a completely self contained workout device.
I don’t care which “brand name” of Pilates you practice, whether it’s Winsor Pilates, Malibu Pilates, or Stott Pilates, there is a good chance you’ve used one of these machines. Maybe you have even bought one for your own home gym. If you don’t have one but thought about buying one…keep reading.
What I am going to do now is give a little comparison for three of the best Pilates machines out there: the Pilates Reformer, the Pilates Power Gym, and the Malibu Pilates Chair. These are, by far, the three most popular pieces of exercise equipment.
So here is the first review…the Pilates Reformer, the big dog of Pilates machines.
Pilates Reformer
This legendary (alright I’m being a little facetious with this term) Pilates Reformer is the top of the line Pilates machine out there. It is the equipment of choice among most of the worlds Pilates teaching elite. Although the name certainly does sound like some ancient torture device straight out of the Spanish Inquisition (which, if you remember your Monty Python, no one expects), it is actually a state of the art and up to date exercise equipment model.
I think most people understand that Joseph Pilates developed the exercise system that bears his name while in a prison camp in the first part of the 20th century. What he wanted was a total holistic form of modern exercise. Pilates strengthens the core abdominal muscles that align and correct your postural muscles, giving you an amazing sense of health and well being.
The Pilates Reformer allows you to sit in its carriage on a padded seat and pull and push yourself along the track using the patented pulley and spring system. This way you can build yourself up with a steady and progressive pace, increasing your workload with time.
Pilates Power Gym
The Pilates Power Gym is a beautiful piece of Pilates equipment. Able to carry a person up to about 225 pounds it has comfortable foot straps and padded handles, just like the Reformer. Like other Pilates machines it allows you to adjust your gym to your own fitness level for core strength training. As well, it is only half the size of a normal Pilates machine and very lightweight so can be moved around with great ease and convenience. It is made with a sturdy carbon-steel frame that helps firm, tone, and sculpt calves, thighs, hips, abs, shoulders, arms, and back for a whole new you. Just think of what it will be like to look in the mirror and absolutely LOVE what you see!
Malibu Pilates Chair
This is one of the smallest and certainly most compact of the whole body Pilates machines. And clocking in at just under three hundred and fifty bucks, it might just be one of the most affordable. It comes with a free wall chart and diet plan that make massive weight loss not only possible but simple and easy. Even sitting on your backside (it is a chair after all) you are going to get a serious work out with the MPC.
It doesn’t matter which of these superior machines you purchase, you’re going to feel great about losing all that weight and building up greater lean muscle mass.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are one of the newer NFL franchises around; they have only been a franchise since 1976. Their career began as a member of the AFC Western Division, then quickly over to the NFC Southern Division. Residents were so thrilled to have their own pro football team that, even in their first season, season tickets were a sell-out. After many years of hard work, the Buccaneers finally brought home a Super Bowl win in 2002. Fans anticipate the same kind of year in ‘09.
In 1976, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers began their career as a member of the AFC Western Division. In order for them to play against certain teams, a move to the NFC Southern Division was inevitable. This move happened only one short year after they began to play pro football.
The Buccaneers, the name itself, has historic sentiment to Tampa Bay. The originating owner, of the Buccaneers, was a man by the name of Tom McCloskey. He did not stay around for long as he was unable to stabilize the team, financially that is. This left room for Hugh Culverhouse to come in and get the team on its feet and away from bankruptcy.
Today, after getting through many of their ups and downs, the Buccaneers play in the Tampa Stadium. The stadium, which holds 73,000 people, is nearly full to overflowing at every home game. Even with two other professional football teams in the state, the Buccaneers still thrive, both financially and from fan support.
Their first two years, in the NFL, were a bit of an embarrassment as they lost 26 games. Yes, every game they played, in the first two years, ended with a loss. Nevertheless, the season of 1979 would proved to be different for the team. Their first five games, in this new season, were wins for the Buccaneers and their fans. It was apparent, now, that this was a good team and tickets, literally, disappeared.
That same year they were the cover / feature story for Sports Illustrated magazine one month. It was also obvious that they were going to the playoffs for the first time in their short history. Immediately after their win against the Kansas City Chiefs, fans swarmed the field and no green could be seen. Fans continued to cheer for their Buccaneers as they went on to win the Central Division title.
In ‘96, the Buccaneers faced many changes, the first of which was that Culverhouse was no long in charge of the team. Even though sales were through the rough, the team was suffering severe financial hardships, bordering bankruptcy. Malcolm Glazer purchased the Buccaneers, this same year, for over 190-million dollars. Glazer’s goal was to turn the Buccaneers into a winning franchise - financially and on the field.
The 2008 season was a decent one, for the team, until Monte Kiffin - defensive coordinator - announced that he was leaving the team and moving on to Tennessee that December. This news broke the team and caused them to lose their last four games of the season, ruining their chance at the playoffs. The 2009 season; however, is already looking up. Loose ends have been tied up and the team is ready to play and get their name printed on a championship title.
When you use carp bait blind without knowing how it works you are using blind faith. In contrast, if you understood far more how and why key aspects of that bait induced bites and had the power to manipulate these potent effect far more then your catches will definitely improve. Read on to find out more…
Most anglers use readymade carp baits because they have become conditioned to because of easy availability, but confidence form slick advertising and advertorials etc are most often the bait that hooks such anglers and certainly not first-hand experience. Often the catches on new baits are made by the best, sharpest and most aware anglers using the edge of a new bait, and most anglers over-look this. If you have not used a bait before and not only do not know what it is made with nor how it works in detail, then my friend, you are fishing on blind faith not confidence.
Now you might wonder what all this confidence stuff has to do with actually knowing something useful about vital carp senses beyond appreciating that they like a bit of protein or a maybe have a flavour preference now and again. In terms of flavours, not all are the same! If I suggested that chilli powder can help your bait be detected from greater range by senses involving various specialised receptor cells and specialised canal pits along the lateral line (and in the actual skin of the fish,) this might be new to many.
Many secrets are hidden from our senses but uncovered very easily by a little messing about with baits and some very elementary science, for instance, many carp bait substances change when in water into different ones to those we experience as humans in air… Garlic releases that pungent smell when broken in air and we are all familiar with similar compounds from onions and chives for example. But the smells from garlic we associate with its success are not strictly accurate, as certain of the key chemicals do not get produced in water the same as in air, and this might suggest to some thinking anglers that far more is going on, perhaps on a more deeper level to do with the biology of the fish in response to bioactive garlic substances rather than just a smell or taste.
Carp may be influenced far more profoundly by internal impacts on their bodies than a simple flavour or taste offers and many proteins are thermogenic involving extra releasing of energy, and salmon is a very successful example of this, but poultry too for instance, but bait ingredients and substances impact on the brain, some far more powerfully than others! I tried an experiment today by eating wheat-free biscuits and an wheat-free doughnut too! However, after even the first bite, even though ingredients were virtually the same as the wheat-containing biscuits and doughnuts (but for only one key aspect,) taking another bite was more of a pain than a pleasure. All those good sweeteners, taste-enhancers, fruit flavours etc should have made me want to eat more right, but they did not, because I had got used to expecting something else to happen that did not; a release of feel-good hormones in the brain…
What a disappointment it was to eat the wheat-free foods and not want more! Although they still have all the same ingredients like the flavours, sweeteners and enhancers etc, something vital was missing that made me want to keep on eating and this is why I only had one doughnut; Homer Simpson would have been shocked to say the least! There was no key vital substance in the food to make my brain release a rush of feel-good hormones that occurs naturally in the wheat-based foods.
If you apply this to fishing, it is like using a bait with a flavour and sweetener, and fishing next to it a bait with the same ingredients exactly, but with that extra vital brain chemical releasing impact. Which food or bait will catch more fish and which might you go for preferentially?! As it is your brain the makes the decision for your body you may have no choice and you may have noticed that so many people over-eat wheat-based foods and store-up fat as a result despite this being far from a healthy thing to do; it’s natural drug-induced behaviour for sure, even though certain emotions are frequently still involved!
Many foods are made with substances that further impact on the brain to eat you to eat it more because it means the producers make more money and you actually get into a habit of eating it, and finding foods without such habit-inducing chemicals can be quite a hard thing to do if you try to rid your diet, body and brain to become free from their influence! Think tiger nuts or peanuts, now these are not exactly the most packed nutritional foods on the planet, but even though hemp is a super food in its own right, it too has substances with brain influencing impacts and practical consideration these aspects of bait ingredients, flavours etc can really get you the edge over fish, and other competing baits. You can term it using habit-forming or addictive substances to manipulate fish behaviours or just call it good use of what a bait should really be - i.e. addictive! The bait secrets ebooks author offering this has much more to reveal to those wanting better baits and bigger catches but this will certainly help you!
By Tim Richardson.
Stimulating your fish to feed makes them much easier to catch! The ways of doing this by leveraging the power of your bait has multiplied vastly in recent years, and many things have changed, leading to bigger catch results for many more anglers in the know…
The scientific information available on essential dietary needs of carp most often does not take into account the presence of natural food in the presence of a test food item such as that of milk casein and gelatine. In fact it really makes a big difference when you consider that a carp is fully designed to fully digest and utilise its natural food items as opposed to an artificial food item composed of many foods such as in a boilie bait or pellet designed for salmon, trout or even specifically designed for carp! The actual energy and nutrient requirements compared to the actual biological conversion and energy supplied may well not be as great nor as efficient as thought by anglers.
Carp feeding stimulation involves many carp senses in a combined way; so why not exploit as many as possible to maximise our baits, after all; (baits do not merely work by exploiting nutritional stimulation but many other factors too!) We can take into account real life fishing variables such as the way carp exploit various natural food sources as the season progresses and this will impact on bait design and bait recipes, type of baits used and how they are applied on the hook and introduced as ground bait. When fish are very much orientated to feed upon natural organisms then this too can be exploited by good bait design, and we can exploit and manipulate the presence of natural organisms by using our bait to deliberately attract these too.
How things have changed in carp fishing since I began in the 1970’s when most carp anglers caught single and double-figure fish and a carp weighing over twenty pounds was very special indeed and a thirty pound fish was a fish of a life-time and something of an object for closer scientific scrutiny! Where a can of luncheon meat or a loaf of bread used to catch carp, now many anglers will throw into their swim a couple of thousand boilies, many kilograms of pellets or particle baits and still expect to catch without waiting a week for all this to be cleared before getting a bite. The impact of the general trend towards use of more bait as free bait, chum or ground bait is often to do with improving angler confidence, but it can very much improve fish confidence too and when done appropriately seriously multiplies catches.
It is true that the majority of the fish you could fish available to you prior to the boom in carp fishing in the UK were of double and single figures and it has been said that at that time there were as many twenty pound fish in Kent waters as the rest of the waters in the UK put together. New carp anglers in the UK today could never fully appreciate just what an achievement catching a twenty pound carp meant back in the 1970’s and early 1980’s; and the opportunity to actually fish a water that held a thirty pound fish was incredibly exciting experience! To many carp anglers fishing just a couple of decades ago, the first challenge was actually to locate a water containing any big carp over twenty or thirty pounds at all, and it might seem crazy to consider that to me it was once an exhilarating thrill to fish a water containing fish over twenty pounds, now having hooked a carp over eighty pounds a couple of years ago.
It is funny to think that once upon a time catching twenty individual twenty pound carp in a (UK) carp season fishing from June to March was a very tough goal, even up to 2 decades ago on most UK waters. But I know for certain this can be achieved in under a week on the right UK waters today. Bait know-how does make a great difference to potential results without doubt.
One 1991 milestone catch for me was of 23 carp caught over 5 days from an Essex reservoir, topped by the biggest in the lake (a mid-thirty,) and these fish averaged just under twenty pounds each; this provoked much jealousy from other members at the time, yet today such catches are pretty commonplace. Unique homemade bait design and regular effective bait application was the secret to my milestone catch back then and probably applies even more so today! Bait is often the last consideration today in the age of the instant carp angler who can buy everything except experience, but getting educated on the secrets of bait and how to exploit its power is a very big edge that can make your catches far better than ordinary, (even if you are a carp angler of average talent or experience!)
I know anglers in Spain, France, and in the States and elsewhere can achieve catches that far exceed those possible in the UK; but still it is the effective suitable application of bait that really is a predominant and vital key factor in such giant fish catches. If you speak to leading anglers in various countries around the world, you discover that detailed bait know-how is one topic that is of crucial importance. Considering that carp are extraordinarily adaptive creatures, it is no surprise that by improving our knowledge of how our baits works and how to adapt and apply them creatively has always kept us ahead…

Mini soccer balls belong the size three category according to the soccer balls classification, and they work great for children’s games or for juggling. Some people love collecting mini soccer balls, while others buy them to get autographs from the players they admire. Less expensive than regular balls, the mini versions make a great gift for boys and girls who spend lots of time outside playing; they are cheap and any sports store has several models available or, for online shoppers, the balls can be theirs with a basic order.
Mini soccer balls have a great suitability for promotional purposes; they are used at many open air events and shows, and they are offered to potential customers or visitors. Company details, full messages, logos and symbols are usually printed on such mini soccer balls, which turns the items into reminders of one business or another. Promotional mini soccer balls are purchased in large quantities by various corporations and then custom-printed. It is common practice to offer mini soccer balls at the release of a soccer gear line, precisely if the producer is Brine, Nike or Adidas.
The materials used for the manufacturing of mini soccer balls is not top notch most of the time. The linings inside the balls are often made from some leftovers from other balls sizes, and the same is true about the coverings. The idea is not to create a lower quality product, but to use all resources well and save as much money as possible. Plus, the fact that less expensive materials are used in the design of mini soccer balls is explained by the finality of such products: they are used for practice, maybe training and children’s games.
Hence, mini soccer balls have a limited range of usage and the expectations are not high. Unlike match and professional balls, these mini variants have no special features or extended warranties. However, there are some quality standards that have to be met for such items too: for instance, the bounce, the inflation, the balance and the speed have to be at least satisfactory. Depending on the bladder material, butyl or natural rubber, mini soccer balls may require periodical inflation, particularly when latex is used. Even so, the air tension in the ball can be felt by simply pressing the hand against the ball; then you’ll know if it has lost air or not.

I expect that this first effort of mine into the world of writing will find a place with both novices and experts in the tennis world. I am striving to interest the student of the game by a somewhat prolonged discussion of match play, which I trust will cast a new light on the game of tennis.
I will address the novice in my opening article and speak of certain matters which are second nature to the experienced tennis player. The best tennis equipment is not a lot of use for the novice even if he really wants to succeed. Nevertheless, one has to purchase good quality; it is a saving eventually, as good quality material far outlasts poor quality gear.
It is important to always dress in tennis attire when playing tennis. The question of selecting a tennis racquet is a much more serious matter. I do not advise forcing a certain make of racquet upon any player, since all the standard makes are excellent. However, it is on the weight, balance, and size of handle that the real value of a racquet frame depends, while good stringing is essential to get the best results.
After having acquired your racquet, make a firm decision to use only good tennis balls, as a consistent bounce is a great aid to advancement, while a “dead” ball is of no use at all. If you really want to advance at tennis and progress rapidly, I strongly urge you to watch all the good tennis you can. Observe the play of the leading players and strive to copy their strokes. Read all the tennis instruction books you can get your hands on. They are a great assistance.
It is surprising to many people that more tennis can be learned off the tennis court in the study of theory and in watching the best players in action, than can ever be learned in one’s own actual play. I do not mean that you should miss opportunities to play tennis, far from it. Play tennis whenever you can, but strive when playing to put into practice the theories you have read about or the strokes you have watched.
Never become discouraged by slow progress. The trick of playing some stroke you have worked on for weeks unsuccessfully, will suddenly come to you when least expected. Good tennis players are the product of hard work. Very few players are born geniuses at the game. Tennis is a game that pays you dividends all your life. A tennis racquet is a letter of introduction in any town.
The fellowship of the game is universal, since none but an athletic sportsman can succeed in the game for any long period of time. Tennis offers relaxation, excitement, exercise, and pure enjoyment to the player who is tied hard to his job until late afternoon.
The following order of development produces the quickest and most lasting results: 1. Concentration on the game. 2. Keep the eye on the ball. 3. Foot-work and weight-control. 4. Strokes. 5. Court position. 6. Court generalship or match play. 7. Tennis psychology.
Concentration. Tennis is played primarily with the mind. The most perfect racquet technique invented will not be enough if the directing mind is erring. There are many reasons for a distracted mind in a tennis match. The main one is lack of interest in the game. No one should play tennis with any hope of real success unless he cares enough about the game to be willing to do the spadework necessary to learn the game correctly.
Pack it in immediately unless you are willing to work very hard. The weather, conditions of play or the noises in the gallery usually confuse even experienced match-players playing in new surroundings. Utter concentration on the game is the only remedy for a wandering mind, and the quicker that lesson is learned the more rapid the improvement of the player.
The best way to keep a match in focus is to try for every set, every game in the set, every point in the game and, eventually, every shot in the point. A set is merely a collection of made and missed shots, and the man who misses the least is the ultimate winner.
Starting with a base mix or starting from scratch are the two ways you can make your own carp bait. The first is the best way to quickly construct your own bait where as the latter takes a little longer.
Both have their advantages and one the main part the largest of these is the cost involved followed by the overall quality of the bait that is the final product. The ready prepared base mixes only require that you add flavor and oils to them in order to get them to a good quality bait. This is the more expensive route but at the end of the day it does produce a high quality bait.
The other method is to collate all of your ingredients that you will need to make the most basic of basic base mixes. For this there are three main ingredients which are Semolina, Ground Rice and Soya Flour. It takes a little time but stick with it and you will have a good start to your very own base mix.
Now is the time to add any powder you have planned for your mix for example robin red or fish meal, one of the key rules to making bait is to remember that you add powder to powder and liquid to liquid. It sounds fairly straight forward but as an example make sure you have added all the powder to your mix and given it a really good stir before you add in the liquids. One of the best ways to mix the dry is to use a sealed bag and shake it around, a clear bag allows you to see how mixed the powders are before you proceed.
When you have sorted out your base mix and have decided which way you are going to make your carp bait, then crack your eggs into a bowl and add your flavours and oils to the eggs, most manufacturers will give you guidelines on how much egg you need to make your carp bait, however a usual rule of thumb is approx 4 eggs per kilo of base mix. With the eggs cracked and the flavors added slowly whisk the mix with a fork trying to avoid getting to much air into the eggs, if you beat to much air in then the air will boil out of the bait and leave your finished product too soft.
Once you are sure that your liquids are all fully mixed you can start adding them to your base mix, a little at a time, not to much but add a little quite often and keep mixing it with a fork until the mix becomes too thick to use a fork on. At this point you have to get your hands dirty as you will need to mix by hand (wear gloves if you don’t want to smell like your bait for the next week). Continue dribbling in the mixes together until when you break the ball open you will see that it is the same dampness all the way through.
At this point you will need to start breaking the paste into a number of sections which are the right size to fit in your bait gun. You need to be compressing the mix through the gun making sure that the nozzle on the gun is the right one for the size of bait that you wish to use. For example if you want boilies that are 20mm make sure you are using the 20mm nozzle for your mix. Once you have the sausage you will need to roll it on a sausage rolling table this makes certain that you don’t end up with out of shape and broken boilies.
Once you have rolled your sausage in the rolling table and produced an amount of mix into the required size spheres you will need to move on to the next stage, boiling your carp bait. Take a small amount of your boilies and place them in a pan of boiling water for around two minutes. Refrain from putting too many in the pan at any one time as this can restrict the bait from cooking properly.
After the two mins is up we recommend placing them on an air dry tray for around 24 hours so that the skin forms fully and you can now take your carp bait and see what the fish think!
As the golf grip is so important, here are some free golf tips for beginners on the golf grip. If you are a more experienced golfer then these golf tips might help you to reassess your grip. If you have a certain swing fault such as a hook, use the description of the different grip types and positions to learn how to fix it.
The three basic grip types are the interlocking grip, the overlapping grip, and the ten finger grip (or baseball grip.) Each grip has three different grip angles; distance, neutral, and control. There are also three different grip strengths; a weak, strong, or neutral grip. The grip you should use will depend on your strength, hand size, finger length, and how you want to shape your shot - just find the grip that suits you and that is comfortable.
3 Grip Styles
The ten finger grip is not recommend for most golfers as the overlapping or interlocking grips are far more adaptable. This grip gives you good leverage and is a substitute grip that can be used by children or women. The disadvantage is that it produces less club head speed which means less distance.
If you have larger hands or longer fingers try the overlapping grip which is considered by many professionals as the best grip to unify your hands. This grip is not good for people with short fingers as they tend to place their right hand too far over or under the club when trying to get comfortable.
The interlocking grip is when the pinkie of the right hand interlocks with the index finger of the left hand. It is used by golfers with small hands or fingers; just be careful of gripping the club in the palm of your right hand as it should be a finger only grip.
The Three Grip Angles
With the distance grip variation, the grip runs diagonally across the base of the fingers from the base of the index finger to the pad at the base of the pinkie. This grip maximizes the wrists flexibility and is good for distance but also offers sensitivity. It does require, though, more strength and skill to square the club head at impact.
The best grip angle for most golfers will be the neutral grip. The grip now runs diagonally from the base of the index finger to a point between the heel pad of your palm and the pad at the base of the little finger. This grip is a good option between distance and control because you have the most flexibility in shot making.
The third type of grip angle you could try is the control grip. The club runs on a more diagonal line from the base of your index finger to the top of your heel pad. With this grip you will have maximum control for more accuracy but with less flexibility in the wrists you will get less distance.
3 Grip Strengths
Finally, with regards to grip strength, the first is the strong grip. When looking down at your left hand, the “V” between your thumb and forefinger point towards your right shoulder and the point between the two tendons in the wrist should be in line with the right side of the shaft. The strong grip is used to eliminate slicing and is also good for distance. Don’t use this grip if you want to fade the ball.
The neutral strength grip is the preferred grip for most golfers. The “V” should now point towards your right ear and the point mentioned before of your wrist lines up with the center of your shaft. With this grip you can move the ball right to left (draw) or left to right (fade.) It requires a bit more strength to square the club at impact.
The weak grip is when the point in your wrist is lined up with the left side of your shaft and the “V” points to your chin. This grip can be used to eliminate hooking the ball but you won’t be able to hit a controlled draw. It also requires more strength to square the club at impact.
Summary
Which ever grip you use, remember that the palms of your hands face each other. The grip is held in the fingers of the right hand and the palm and fingers of the left hand. Also, when gripping the club, leave a half inch of the grip protruding beyond your left hand. Your hands should fit snugly together and feel unified and you should grip the club tightly and consistently throughout the entire golf swing. I hope these free golf tips for beginners for gripping the club will help you with your golf.
Woodworking is a very productive hobby. You can create useful things for your house and still enjoy what you do. If you can develop your skills, it is highly possible also that woodworking can become a very lucrative business for you.
So here are some very basic woodworking tips for beginners, which could help you significantly. However, it would also be best to strengthen your skills in this kind of craft by reading books about woodworking, which you can find in your local library.
You should make a firm decision on the type of project that you will make. This is one of the most important woodworking tips for beginners. A specific project will serve as your purpose in starting a woodworking hobby or career.
Whether you will make a simple wood frame for your pictures or an elaborate playhouse for the children, it is always important to make up your mind about the type of project that you will start.
It is not necessary to build a separate structure as your woodworking shop. You can turn your garage or basement into a shop. However, make sure that your work will not unduly inconvenience your family or your neighbors.
Small spaces can be workable depending on the project scope but the more space you have the easier it will be. It is also best if your shop has its own power source so you can easily use your electric tools.
Having a step by step plan and schedule will help you to move the project along and not get stalled. You need to decide how many hours you will devote for your woodworking project.
If you will not properly schedule and organize your work, then it would be impossible for you to finish a project. Worse, you may eventually lose interest because of the delays caused by your erratic schedules.
